DDD - Disinfection, Disinsectization and Deratization

Presence of animal pests is a predictable phenomenon. Hence it is possible to prevent it by precautionary measures or to prevent further economic damages and medical problems in suitable repressive ways. Regular monitoring and prevention remain the most economical and the most effective solution.

What DDD stands for:

  • Disinfection
    • liquidation of microogranisms by chemical and physical (for example UV radiation, high temperature) methods.
  • Disinsectization
    • means extermination of harmful arthropods, most often pest species.
  • Deratization
    • means extermination of harmful rodents like sewer rats, house mice and rats by various means, in particular in residential premises, also in the open air to some extent.

Systematic protection against pests:

  • Monitoring presence of pests and prevention at risk places are more economical as late detection of pests means higher incurred damages as well as higher costs spent on extermination of the pests
  • Repressive intervention - if pests are present, a targeted (based on monitoring results) repressive intervention takes place, which contributes to limiting the risk of affecting a non-targeted or even protected species and to reduction of the applied amount of biocides, non-effective application of which adversely affects the environment
  • Keeping records and communicating with the inspection authorities
